Knut's Island « Thread Started on Sept 18, 2009, 5:04am »
Hey - I bet you don't remember me that much. But anyway, I am still around - mostly on facebook and twitter. Currently I am writing a spoof series called Knut's Island. I have gotten up to chapter 13 in season 1. The series is about a man called Ham that crashes (after his plane got hit by a giant wing of an eagle called Boldy) into a island called Knut's Island.
You can find the story at knutty.blogg.no - and it is mostly updated on tuesdays, thursdays and sundays. But this week it is sweap week and new chapters every day. Hope you will enjoy the story.
I hope to get back to write the final episode of season 6 of LOST FANPOST.

Of course we remember you Knutty. And a show with the title Knut's Island sounds like it'll be a great read.

I just read all the way through Chapter 12.
Entertaining and...interesting..
Spookiratius is cool. How did he ever get those beautiful women with that nose? Guess it's the power and not the looks. My favorite line from him was "That is the sound of a thousand bad things"
And Communicaturis was just....um no comment.
The PMS forces were awesome and Ham's innocent comment about it was funny. But I'm glad he got a chance to report himself missing on a "Missing persons on a crazy island" web page and that somebody could talk monkish to the monkey's guarding that bridge. Ha! Very entertaining so far. Love it!
Oh my God! The PMS torture scene in the mall is classic. So Monty Python-ish. Poor Ham. I often shop with my wife so I understand his pain. Ha! The force is strong with this one. Nice Star Wars reference.
48 hour walk? How big is this island? Nut addicted parrots leading the rebellion. Cool. Love the name Arnold Nuttenegger. Ha Ha!
Ok, we are getting somewhere. The island is experiencing affects from some sort of reverse machine and Ham must be the one to destroy it. Of course, nobody knows anything else about it.
Bizarre humor. Ha! This place is NUTS!! But the story is addicting, I can't stop!!
Wow! A Season poster! That's cool. I was hoping to see some illustrations of the characters though. Kong ' O Long would be cool to see. And maybe Communicaturis?...Um on second thought I take that back. No Communicaturis, please
Ha! You will recognize this mr. "X" by the "Y" tattoo on his toe. Classic. Reminds me of the humor you would experience in the "Airplane" or "Naked Gun" movies.
Ahh Send out the Ants to capture Ham and the rebellion.
Overall
Funny. Light hearted and entertaining. Can't wait to see what happens to Ham and company. Will Ham ever get off the island?

-> Sorry I can draw, but I hope to use Poser to illustrate some of it...

Knut's Island: Chapters 1-13
Knut's Island! It reminds me a lot of Alice in Wonderland, journeying from place to place and meeting strange and unusual characters. Or maybe the Odyssey on crack. Most of the time I have no idea what the hell is going on, but it's hilarious and I want to keep reading. Some of the character names and situations you create seriously make me laugh out loud.
I know you're not a native English speaker - I remember reading some of your scripts back when I was a Lost Season 5 Writing Contest judge. But I think you've done a great job creating an English story that works for you. It's already a silly story, and honestly your "accent" makes it delightfully more fun.

3 Blurtons out of 5.
Thank you so much Yes, the "accent" is a give away. To be honest I am not sure where the story is going all the time. But I just sit down in front of the computer and write out a short story based on the chapter titles. As you might have noticed (or not) already all the titles from chapter 9 and out to 16 (which will be the season final) is song titles from the Norweigan band A-ha. Season 2 will actually have some remade US TV series titles.
But that said I know some of the plot points that will happen during the season. I am very honored that people like what I write and that it is understandable in English. To write comedy isn't that easy if you want to make in universal. And if you can manage to reuse some dialogs and situations and tweek in it to your own - and still remain truthfully to the orignal - I am all for it.
