Best and worst movies of the 2000's
« Thread Started on Nov 5, 2009, 4:56pm »

Any movie from 2000-now

My list is far from exhaustive...

EDIT: This is a lot harder than I realized...

Best:
The Lord of the Rings
Up
Wild Things
Gran Torino
(500) Days of Summer
Apocolypto
Anything that begain with Bourne
Almost everything done by Christopher Nolan
Pretty much all the Harry Potter Films except 2 and 5 (they were just okay). 1 wasn't spectacular either.
Some M. Night (Signs, Unbreakable)
Star Wars Episode III

Worst:
Star Wars: Episode II
Transformers I and II
M. Night Movies (The Happening)

Haha.

In my opinion, The Blair Witch was more suspenseful than Paranormal Activity. PA was scary, but TBW had more impact and originality. Not to mention the last scene (or act) made my heart race more than the ending for PA.

Both of them were frustrating at not letting us see what the threat was specifically :-/ but I guess that's what makes it an effective horror film.

Being John M. came out Decembe 26, 1999 (not sure if in the US, but that was a release date). I rounded the years.

The Sixth Sense isn't even up there.

And Blair Witch is amazing. Get over it.

In fact, I'm even going to add up FIGHT CLUB up there.

No one said it wasn't.

Indy said it came out in the 90s and I said I never saw the movie before. Yikes. :|

Oh no, Johno... The "get over it" wasn't referring to you, but to Indy talking about how TBW and those other films in my list weren't from the 90s :)

What Jake is basically saying, Indy...is that the films on his list that were not in the 2000's were all in 1999 and he sees absolutely no reason at all why you would feel the need to pick up on that fact when you could have just looked at the list, and said 'Good choice ;D'
